Is Kornati Suitable
for Kids?
The short answer is: Yes! But we know parents have questions. Here is everything you need to know about safety, shade, and keeping the little ones entertained.
Safety First:
Why choose a wooden boat?
When visiting Kornati, you usually have two choices: a fast speedboat or a traditional wooden ship like the Kanela. For families, the wooden ship is the clear winner.
High Railings
Unlike open speedboats, our decks are enclosed by sturdy railings, making it safe for toddlers to walk around.
Stability
The Kanela is heavy and stable. It cuts through waves gently, reducing the risk of motion sickness compared to bouncy plastic boats.

Is there shade?
Yes. The entire lower deck and dining area are covered. Your kids can stay out of the direct sun for the entire journey if they want to.
Are there toilets?
Yes. We have proper marine toilets on board. Essential for any full-day trip with children!
Picky Eaters?
We serve simple, fresh food. Kids love the ham & cheese breakfast sandwich and the grilled chicken/pork at lunch.
"I'm bored"
(Things you won't hear)
We keep the little sailors entertained.

Meet the Donkeys
At our stop in Telašćica, wild (but friendly) donkeys roam around. Kids absolutely love feeding them an apple or carrot!

Be the Captain
Our captain loves little helpers. Ask nicely, and your child might get a chance to hold the wheel for a photo op!

Feed the Fish
The water is so clear you can see schools of fish. During lunch, throwing a piece of bread overboard causes a feeding frenzy.

Jumping Deck
For older kids (and brave dads), jumping from the upper deck into the deep blue sea is the highlight of the trip.
